Julie O’Neill, Esq.
Julie O’Neill, a partner in the Boston office of the law firm Morrison Foerster LLP, has, for over 25 years, worked with corporate and non-profit clients to navigate the constantly evolving landscape of data privacy and consumer protection regulation. She provides clients with creative and practical solutions to compliance challenges, focusing on risk assessment, management, and mitigation. A former Federal Trade Commission staff attorney, Julie also defends companies in investigations by the FTC and before data protection authorities around the world.
Julie began her legal career in Washington, DC, in the 1990s, supporting a U.S. Agency for International Development-funded program aimed at assisting governments in Central and Eastern Europe as they established competition and consumer protection frameworks crucial to their becoming market economies. Before attending law school, Julie taught junior high school English in Suzuka, Japan, and then served for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Gambia, West Africa. She graduated from the University of Virginia and the Georgetown University Law Center.
