Director of Development

Position
The Director of Development reports to the CEO and President and is responsible for the overall direction of Saint Rock Haiti Foundation's (SRHF’s) fundraising and external communications. This is an individual contributor role that offers a significant growth opportunity on a small tight-knit team. While the Director will not have any direct reports, s/he will interface with the Board of Directors, the Development Committee, and staff members. This is a full-time hybrid position with the flexibility to work mostly remotely, with occasional meetings in our Milton, MA office.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
● Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement SRHF's overall Development strategy.
● Plan and implement an Annual Giving strategy to support SRHF's operating budget.
Donor Acquisition & Cultivation
● Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, institutional, and corporate donors, focusing on building relationships and growing philanthropic support.
● Support CEO in developing and implementing significant giving strategy and individualized giving plans.
● Work closely with senior leaders on appropriate donor strategies.
● Collaborate with colleagues to identify and cultivate potential new sources of year-end giving (e.g., stock, donor-advised fund, and IRA charitable distributions, bequests, beneficiary designations, and charitable gift annuities).
● Ensure all major individual donors are well informed, acknowledged in meaningful ways, and appreciated adequately throughout the year, including designing and managing thoughtful acquisition and stewardship events.
Fundraising
● Oversee external fundraising events, including coordinating with staff, volunteers, and event planners.
Tracking, Analysis & Reporting
● Track prospects and donor activity through a CRM/database.
● Maintain accuracy in database records and reporting.
● Analyze Annual Fund programs and prepare reports for leadership.
Communications
● Create an electronic communications plan including social media presence to enhance, complement, and support the Annual Fund and other development efforts. Oversee execution by support staff.
● Manage written materials, including appeals, quarterly newsletters, acknowledgments, and annual reports.
● Draft and edit proposals, reports, and briefings as appropriate.
Leadership
● Contribute to the success and engagement of the Development Committee.
● Develop fluency in global health.
● Represents SRHF by attending and participating in external meetings and events.
Qualifications
● Must be within 1.5 hours commuting distance from Milton, MA
● Bachelor's degree
● 5+ years' experience working in an annual giving, institutional giving or related fundraising role
● International Development experience a plus
● Enthusiasm for SRHF mission
● Passion for issues of social justice on an international level
● Donor-focused mindset
● Fundraising event planning experience a plus
● Experience using donor management/prospect tracing software (CRM); Salesforce a plus
● Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Business Products

Compensation & Benefits
● Base Salary $80,000. Final determination of salary will be based on an evaluation of education, experience, and skills.

Role Purpose
Under the supervision of the MEAL Specialist, the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Officer will assist in the implementation and/or revision of monitoring plans and indicator performance monitoring table (IPTT) for program development. The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Officer provides methodological support to all program teams. It is also the guarantor of the quality and relevance of the internal monitoring and evaluation activities carried out. He/she contributes to the capitalization process and the development of SRHF’s strategy.
Description of the main tasks
Implementation of MEAL systems for SRHF’s Program
Develop, manage, and maintain an effective, efficient, up-to-date monitoring and evaluation system capable of producing reliable data whose analysis produces information that supports objective decision-making.
Actively participate in the compilation of indicators and provide feedback to the team in accordance with the monitoring and evaluation plan.
Lead the planning and implementation of data collection, baseline and final surveys, mid-term evaluations, annual surveys, and other follow-up activities.
Monitor gender-sensitive indicators.
Define a learning agenda with the MEAL Specialist.
Ensure that the monitoring and evaluation system adheres to and promotes intentional learning guided by this defined learning agenda.
Propose adjustments or new activities to improve the quality of operations or approaches used by the teams, in consultation with the MEL Specialist and the program managers.
Contribute to the terms of reference of external evaluations and studies.
He/she will also be actively involved in promoting learning through the documentation of lessons learned ,the development of data analysis approaches in context, and the use of lessons learned for decision-making.
Report
Maintain the timing of reports.
Ensure that the necessary components of the reports are aligned before deadlines and that the MEAL structure is well organized to deliver the reports on time.
Provide the results achieved, supported in the reports that must necessarily be the product of the analyses of the data collected.
Ensure that the narratives supported in the reports go beyond the simple descriptive statistics of the data and try to identify the potential impacts of these results as well as their effect on the project's performance and the expected results.
Work closely with program teams, especially the Health Care Team, to ensure effective and ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of program results.
Coordinate reporting with local partners, including tracking deadlines, meeting control formats and requirements, report quality and accuracy, and periodic drafting, review, and submission of reports.
Facilitate Management
Inform the MEAL Specialist and program managers of any obstacles or problems when undertaking any of the above responsibilities.
Write reports on activities and make recommendations.
Undertake other relevant tasks assigned to him/her by the MEAL Specialist and/or the senior staff of the mission in relation to his/her skills and abilities.
Integrate gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches into all programs and ensure that activities promote the most vulnerable participation in a way that does not endanger them and that children with disabilities are appropriately included.
Support the implementation of accountability procedures at the level of the various mission programs.

Qualifications
Minimum: BAC+4 in research methods, social sciences, economics, or another relevant field required.
At least 4-6 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation is required, preferably in a volunteer position, internship, or employment with a Haitian or international NGO.
Have a good command of computer science in database management, programming, and analysis, and demonstrate proven initiative and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be excellent in French and written and spoken English.
Have strong systematic and analytical thinking skills with strong interpersonal skills.
Quite rich experience in report production.
Having special training in monitoring and evaluation is an added value.
Experience in managing a team, and capacity building.
Experience in monitoring and evaluation with international NGOs for at least 3 years.
Experience with multi-year assistance projects, particularly in M&E.
Knowledge and experience with accountability and quality management.
Good knowledge of SMART indicators, logical framework, and other program management tools.
Ability to design and develop questionnaires and impact indicators for measuring program outcomes and objectives.
Ability to develop qualitative collection tools, organize and execute focus groups, and other qualitative survey techniques.
Ability to manage field teams and verify data reliability.
Ability to write reports in English and/or French.
Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, Power BI, and PowerPoint), G-Suite, Kobo, SPSS, CommCare
Knowledge of mobile data collection with a tablet.

Role: We are committed to making a meaningful impact in the Saint Rock community and are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Development & Operations Associate to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting our development efforts, managing donor relations, and ensuring efficient administrative operations. The Associate will work with a small, dedicated team in the US and interact with donors and volunteers of the organization.
Position Overview:
The Development & Operations Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to fundraising, donor management, and administrative support. This role requires a blend of skills in development, bookkeeping, and database management. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and have a passion for supporting nonprofit missions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Donor Database Management:
- Maintain and update the donor database to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Record and track donations, pledges, and fundraising activities.
- Generate and analyze reports on donor activity and fundraising progress.
2. Acknowledgment and Stewardship:
- Draft and send timely acknowledgment letters and receipts to donors.
- Follow Stewardship Plan for personalized donor follow-ups and appreciation.
3. Fundraising Support:
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns.
- Prepare materials for donor communications and outreach efforts including social media.
- Support the Development team with research and outreach to potential donors and sponsors.
- Schedule external donor meetings for CEO, staff, and board members.
4. Administrative Bookkeeping:
- Assist the Finance Manager to maintain accurate financial records related to donations and expenses.
- Work with Haitian staff to manage receipts from Haitian operations.
- Assist Finance Manager with monthly reconciliation and preparation of financial reports.
5. Filing and Documentation:
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic files related to donors, donations, and financial records.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures for record-keeping.
6. Annual Audit and Accounting Reconciliation:
- Assist in the preparation of documentation and schedules required for the annual audit.
- Collaborate with external auditors to provide necessary information and address inquiries.
- Support the accounting and finance team in reconciling accounts and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
7. General Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the US team, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
- Take occasional meeting minutes for internal and committee meetings.
- Prepare and distribute documents and materials needed for committee meetings.•
- Assist with office organization and other tasks as needed.
