Daniel F. Driscoll, MD

Dan Driscoll is Vice Chair of the SRHF Board. He is a primary care internist and Medical Director since 2012 at Tufts Medical Center Primary Care in Quincy. He previously had practiced in Hyde Park and East Milton and served as Medical Director of the Carney IPA for 20 years. He was a National Health Service Corps physician who started at South Boston Community Health Center in 1985.

He first visited St. Rock in 2010 as a volunteer physician and was hooked. He has always had an interest in community and population health and could see the difference that St Rock Haiti Foundation was making for all facets of the community. He has had 3 sons visit St Rock and has worked with them on future IT solutions for a maturing Centre de Santé (though he greatly enjoys getting back to the simplicity of paper notes during his stays). He has been a member of the Board since 2011 and serves on the Medical Practice Committee.

Dan holds a BA in Biology from Colby College and an MD from Tufts University School of Medicine. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa (Colby) and Alpha Omega Alpha (Tufts) honor societies and received the Louis Weinstein Prize in Clinical Medicine at Tufts. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia and Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Tufts. He recently completed his term as Chairman of the Board of The New England Quality Care Alliance physician network.

Dan has visited St. Rock yearly since 2010. He loves the challenge of the mobile clinics and the need to improvise constantly as we try to help the community with limited resources. He always tries to finish on time to take a hike through the hills of St. Rock…. Always looking for the path less travelled.
