Saint Rock Haiti Foundation’s response to the August 14, 2021 earthquake

Haiti experienced a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on Saturday morning, August 14, 2021, in the southern peninsula causing wide scale damage and complete destruction of homes, schools and hospitals with many people still trapped under the rubble. All recovery efforts were compounded by flooding and landslides produced by Tropical Depression Grace that overwhelmed the island on Monday evening.

The epicenter of the earthquake was approximately 80 miles from the Saint Rock community where the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation health clinic operates and, luckily, experienced only tremors and no damage to the community. The health clinic remains open and prepared to help anyone impacted by this disaster.

SRHF remains in constant communication with our partners in the southern peninsula and are participating in a volunteer registry of medical professionals who are ready to be deployed to where they are needed most as well as a coordinated effort to donate critically needed supplies from our clinic.

What can we do here in the U.S. to support the people in Haiti directly impacted by this disaster? Please consider a donation to SRHF today. Your support will ensure that we can continue sharing vital resources with our partners that are now in urgent need.

Our commitment to Saint Rock and the surrounding communities extends to their fellow country men and women whose lives have been devastated by this most recent natural disaster. Your support is desperately needed and we are so grateful for your partnership in this effort.

Thank you,

Jocelyn Bresnahan
